Joint Injections

Joint injections are a cornerstone of rheumatologic care, providing targeted relief for inflamed, painful, or swollen joints. Our physicians perform both corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation and joint aspirations to remove excess fluid for diagnostic analysis or symptom relief. All procedures are performed in the comfort of our office using local anesthesia such as a cold spray or topical numbing agent to minimize discomfort. Commonly treated joints include the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist, base of the thumb, and the small joints of the hands and feet. Many patients experience significant improvement within days of the procedure, and the relief can last for weeks or months.
